Small scale skirmish rules are popular and miniatures and media coverage are plentiful. I think Mystique Enterprises has relaunched Behind enemy Lines at a perfect time. Back in the mid-80s, before Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers and Pacific, it was difficult to find role players interested in slogging through France as opposed to battling dragons in The Forgotten Realms. I really enjoyed that game, especially that the Companion's version shifted focus away from special forces onto the average dog faced GI. I owned a copy of Behind Enemy Lines produced by the Companions, an offshoot of the original BEL from FASA.
